Meet Nature's Select Dog, Kassie!
She is a Labrador Retriever and is an appointed member of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department’s Chaplain Crisis Response Canine Program. She was originally trained by our friends at Next Step Service Dogs in San Diego, CA. She is the San Diego Fire dog that helps the First Responders after traumatic calls and events. While she can help the public if called to do so by SD Fire, her primary purpose is to be their crisis response canine being used in a program to reduce PTSD in First Responders, which includes Dispatchers. The goal is to help drop the rates of self-medication and suicide. Kassie enjoys working hard with her handler, Kevin. She thrives on Select Plus Recipe to keep her healthy!

"We have a high performing, highly trained facility K-9 who works daily. It is part of her requirements to maintain a specific weight and physical level of health to perform her job (which aids a large number of people throughout San Diego County). She is phenomenal at her job, and her skillsets are priceless.
