Hi Everyone! Or as my dad Paul would say, "Hey Folks!" If you're reading this you have received the very first edition of my personal newsletter I'll be sending to our Nature's Select Customers on a monthly basis. Let's do this!
If we haven't met before, allow me to formally introduce myself - I'm Megan! I am the daughter of Paul Cavanaugh, the CEO and Founder of Nature's Select Pet Food. I have worked for our family's business on and off really throughout my whole life. I started helping my dad to fill "puppy packs" of free samples of our dog food to hand out to people we met at the weekend Swap Meet at the OC Marketplace in Costa Mesa, California in the mid 1990s. I would spend summers helping out at the office to staple new customer packets, file customer account cards, tagging along on local pet food deliveries in Orange County, and I would even climb the dog food pallets and play hide and seek in the warehouse. I also worked in the office after school during my teenage years calling on new customers & helping out at shows and events on the weekends. Nowadays I work to expand our business through marketing efforts, advertising, brand recognition, partnership opportunities and beyond! You can learn more about our company's history here.
I officially came to work for the company after I graduated college in 2014 starting as the Social Media Coordinator and worked my way up to become the Chief Brand Officer. A fancy title to cover the 100+ hats I wear working here! I am honored to continue my dad's legacy and keep growing what he started 28 years ago out of our home. Small Family Businesses work so hard to stick around for so long, but I attribute most of our success to my dad's mentality to approach everything in a very personalized, friendly way. To him, customers were family, and that's something we still hold true to this day. I look forward to growing the business and continue to offer our signature customer service and provide high quality pet food products to our community of pet lovers all over America.
