To Our Loyal Customers,
As we all know, fuel prices have risen significantly over the past couple of months and are drastically changing the cost of goods across all markets. We appreciate your loyalty and your understanding in helping us navigate these rising operational costs. As a small family business, we have been absorbing these increases for as long as possible, coming from multiple directions - shipping materials, freight prices, shipping fees, and bag costs - but can no longer afford to absorb it all ourselves.
Given the above, we regrettably announce a Temporary Fuel Surcharge effective with orders placed after 1 p.m. PST on May 13th, 2026. This is a $7.50 flat fee, which will appear as a “Temporary Fuel Surcharge” added to all pet food orders of $40.00 or more (note - any order under our $40 threshold will still have the minimum shipping fee applied). We did not want to appear to be taking advantage of these costs, so we have kept this fee to the lowest amount possible ($7.50 flat fee). Please know that this is a temporary measure; we hope to remove this surcharge as soon as fuel prices stabilize. We will continue to watch fuel cost activity week to week and keep our customers informed as changes happen. The market uncertainty, coupled with the recent industry forecasts, forces us to monitor the overall fuel movements closely and potentially announce future price increases if necessary. Given the current economic climate, I do feel that this could potentially impact the cost of pet food ingredients later this summer, which could ultimately cause a price increase by Q3. For now, though, we will be optimistic and choose to hope for the best.
