Our Nature’s Select High Protein Beef & Rice Recipe is ideal for growing puppies 8 weeks and older, gestating or lactating mother dogs, and highly active working dogs! Growing pups, working dogs and highly active dogs all require high protein, high fat and high calories to ensure their needs are met properly. This recipe contains prebiotics and probiotics for smooth digestion and supports a healthy weight.

Feeding Guidelines

Follow the feeding guidelines shown below. Your dog’s food intake should be adjusted based upon body condition, life stage, activity, and environmental temperature. Since Nature's Select Dog Food is complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Feed with clean water every day. We recommend splitting this amount into two meals. Be sure to take your pets to your local veterinarian for a proper health examination. The following is based on a standard 8 oz. cup size

Note: Increase feeding intake by ½ cup for every 10 lbs over 100 total lbs.

FOR PUPPIES: Puppies start to nibble on solid food at three to four weeks of age. Use the feeding chart as a guideline. We recommend serving Nature’s Select High Protein Dog Food with warm water (three parts dry food, one part water) at all times until weaned (6-8 weeks of age). Remove softened food after a couple of hours due to spoilage. Don’t let your puppy get too overweight and maintain an ideal body condition. Individual needs will vary with breed, activity, litter size and environmental temperature. Slight appetite changes are normal with puppies. Since Nature’s Select foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Be sure to offer fresh, clean water daily. We recommend you take your pet to see your veterinarian annually.

FOR REPRODUCING FEMALES: Nature’s Select High Protein Dog Food has been fortified to meet the needs of reproducing female dogs (gestating or lactating). Food consumption can vary during gestation and lactation, but reproducing females must eat enough food to maintain a good body condition. Expect intakes to increase 2 to 4 times the cups shown in the adult feeding guidelines during lactation.

Transitioning to Nature’s Select: When transitioning your pet to a new food, do so slowly over a period of 7 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day. Slowly increase the amount of new food and slowly decrease the amount of old food until they are fully transitioned to the new food by Day 7.
